We shall go to the beach, as soon as you get better. x

Our favourite place of all to go, is Rhossilli Bay.  Watching Diesal whizz around at top speed, in and out of the sea , chasing seagulls, digging holes in the sand  always makes me laugh.

I initially went to Rhossilli to surf.  Its a gorgeous beach, and as soon as i had Diesal , he came too. If i go with family or friends, he waits patiently at the shore with them  untill i come out of the water, but more often than not,  the surfboard stays at home, and me and d go for a relaxing day at the seaside.

You can see the enjoyment on his face, and he falls sound asleep before our car leaves the car park. A tired and very happy pooch.

Ive promised Diesal we shall make the 1.5hr trip to the beach, as soon as he feels better.

It has been 16days since his amputation, and he hasnt really wanted to move round much.  He becomes very breathless when on a short walk, and sleeps for hours when he gets home.

When we visited the vet to have his stitches removed, she said he still had an amount of pulmonary oedema, which was causing this.  It may resolve on its own, or may require steroids ,at a later date.  She advised that Diesal should loose a bit of weight ( easier said than done), and to see how things went.

Suddenly our trip to the beach seemed a bit further away.

Yesterday seemed a little more hopeful as D looked much brighter.  He marched ahead of me on his walk, and had a little spring in his step (hop) again.  It was fab to see.  Im  We are trying to take each day at a time,  and hope to get to the beach asap. 🙂

  3. Ruthie only lives 1/2 hr from the beach but never really warmed up to it, but she does love running through every marsh and pond. She still does and doesn’t seem to learn from her torque outs. She’s sort of learned how to dig without falling down (she lost a rear). Stay in touch. Ruthie & Me.

  4. Hello Pat and Ruthie.

Thankyou for your message. The beach is Rhossilli bay, which is along the Gower coastline in Wales. Its so pretty and relaxing. We love it 🙂

Ive just been reading about Ruthie. What a brave and beautiful girl. It must be a very difficult time for you. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. Myself and Diesal will be crossing our fingers and paws for thursday! Big hug for both of you

  8. Taking one day at a time is exactly what we humans are supposed to learn to do (and it’s often a really, really difficult lesson). That beach isn’t going anywhere, Diesal. It’s just waiting for you to come back when you’re ready.

    You’re a handsome boy!

Hang in there Diesal and Karen.
